Amtrak Train Derails Outside DC Station (Updated)

There was a reported train derailment outside the tunnel entrance to Union Station in Washington, DC, officials say.

DC Fire and EMS personnel were called to the station at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning where there was a train that went off the rails. 

Investigators say that one person was evaluated by paramedics, though crews were working to reach the occupied train as of 10 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the agency.

All passengers were moved to unaffected cars and were transported to the L'Enfant Plaza station, according to officials. One Amtrak employee suffered a minor medical condition.

The incident remains under investigation.
